Torrey Shallcross Kraiss
Chief Development Officer

The serious stuff:

Torrey graduated from Sweet Briar College in Virginia with a bachelor’s degree and is currently pursuing an Executive Master’s in Leadership at the Georgetown University McDonough School of Business. She began her fundraising career at a mid-sized oncology non-profit and over the last decade has both supported and overseen a variety of Development programs for large and mid-sized national and global non-profits. Torrey has served as the Director of Development most recently at the Reagan-Udall Foundation for the Federal Drug Administration and United Nations World Food Program USA. Torrey’s experience and leadership include developing strategic fundraising plans and overseeing and managing fundraising efforts, building strong and successful relationships with individuals, corporations, and Foundations, and executing successful fundraising events and campaigns.

The fun stuff:

Torrey is a passionate animal lover and is the newly minted mother of a three-year-old grey kitty and a large 10-year-old white English Bulldog that she adopted at 8 weeks. On a typical weekend you can find Torrey at her favorite brunch spot with her husband and friends enjoying mimosas and good conversation. Her love to explore, taste new foods and learn about other cultures makes her the ideal travel buddy. However, she is also a sun baby and loves relaxing on the beach with a good book.

Torrey is an avid sports fan and much to the chagrin of her husband, loudly cheers or jeers at her favorite sports team. Torrey loves to cook, especially French and Italian and does yoga to work off the calories. Growing up just outside of Atlanta, Torrey brings her fiery brand of southern charm to everything that she does.
