Heather Courtney is Founder and CEO of Alwyn Capital, an early-stage investment firm that focuses on removing animals from the supply chain. She is a seasoned real estate investor who saw the opportunity to align her investment portfolio with her animal rights ethos through financing mission-aligned enterprises.
She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Florida with a degree in Biochemistry and worked as a pharmacology researcher before deciding on a career shift.
Heather has been vegan for 23 years and, in that time, has witnessed the exponential growth of the plant-based food sector and knows the space intimately. She is a Deal Lead for the GlassWall Syndicate (a group of vegan, mission-aligned investors), the Co-Chair for GlassWall’s Alternatives to Animal Testing Committee and she serves on the Board of the New England Anti-Vivisection Society. She lives in Brooklyn with her partner and a rotating cast of rescue animals.
